Our Beshore ancestors immigrated to York County, Pennsylvania and moved to Kingman County, Kansas when Milton K. Beshore was about 8-10 years old, where they lived in a sod house on the prairie until they could build a regular house - a practice of many pioneers of that day. Which supposedly entitles all of the Beshore descendents to be a member of an organization called "Sons of the Soddies."

Milton K. Beshore worked at one time for the Intenational Harvester Company in Wichita, Kansas and made two trips to Argentina in South America for that company back before World War I. Later he transferred with the same company to Kansas City, MO and there he met his future wife Nellie Florence Wine. They married in 1919, and Robert Beshore, Sr. and George Beshore were born there during the next six years.
